Description

A jaw-dropping tower of juicy smash burger patties layered with fluffy pancakes, melted cheddar cheese, and tangy pickles, all stacked into a bold comfort-food creation that’s part burger, part breakfast, and 100% indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 ¼ cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 900 g (2 lbs) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • Pickle slices
  • Extra cheese sauce (optional, melted cheddar or nacho cheese)
  • Maple syrup drizzle (optional, for a sweet-savory twist)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients just until smooth.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet and cook pancakes (about 4-inch rounds). Set aside.
  5. Form ground beef into loose 2 oz balls.
  6. Heat a cast-iron skillet until very hot. Place beef ball, then press down firmly with a spatula to “smash.”
  7. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  8. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until caramelized and juicy.
  9. Top with cheddar slice and let melt.
  10. Layer pancake → cheese smash patty → pickles → repeat until desired height.
  11. Drizzle with cheese sauce or maple syrup if adventurous.

Notes

  • For best results, use a cast-iron skillet for the burgers.
  • Adjust the thickness of pancakes based on preference.
  • Feel free to add other toppings like lettuce or tomatoes for extra flavor.
