Ingredients

  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 12 slices deli ham (thin, but not paper-thin)
  • 12 sticks mozzarella cheese (or cut block cheese into 3” sticks)
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for spread)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
  • Oil, for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • For Dipping Sauce (optional): Honey mustard, ranch, or marinara

Instructions

  1. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
  2. Place 1 slice of ham in the center.
  3. Add 1 cheese stick (or chunk).
  4. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the ham before rolling.
  5. Fold the bottom corner tightly over the filling.
  6. Fold in both sides and roll up firmly.
  7. Brush edges with beaten egg to seal.
  8. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Fry egg rolls in small batches for 3–4 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Drain on paper towels.
  11. Garnish with parsley or chives.
  12. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
