- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 12 slices deli ham (thin, but not paper-thin)
- 12 sticks mozzarella cheese (or cut block cheese into 3” sticks)
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for spread)
- 1 egg (beaten, for sealing)
- Oil, for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)
- For Dipping Sauce (optional): Honey mustard, ranch, or marinara
Instructions
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape.
- Place 1 slice of ham in the center.
- Add 1 cheese stick (or chunk).
- If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the ham before rolling.
- Fold the bottom corner tightly over the filling.
- Fold in both sides and roll up firmly.
- Brush edges with beaten egg to seal.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry egg rolls in small batches for 3–4 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Garnish with parsley or chives.
- Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
