Description

Crispy tortilla chips layered with juicy steak, tender shrimp, melty cheese, fresh pico de gallo, and creamy guacamole — the ultimate nacho platter for game night or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large bag tortilla chips
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
  • 1/2 cup queso or nacho cheese sauce (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 1 lb flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional for heat)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup pico de gallo (fresh tomato salsa)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Jalapeños (optional, fresh or pickled)

Instructions

  1. Rub steak with olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Grill or sear on a hot skillet for 4–5 minutes per side (medium-rare to medium). Let rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
  2. Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, garlic, chili flakes, salt, and pepper. Cook in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and slightly charred.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread tortilla chips in a large baking dish or sheet pan. Sprinkle half the cheese over chips, layer steak slices and shrimp, then add remaining cheese. Bake 8–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Remove nachos from oven and immediately top with guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream (if using). Garnish with cilantro and jalapeños. Serve hot and enjoy with extra lime wedges.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, consider adding queso or nacho cheese sauce.
  • Adjust the level of heat by modifying the amount of chili flakes used.
  • Feel free to customize toppings based on personal preference.
