Description
Delightful Strawberry Truffles made with strawberry cake mix and cream cheese frosting, coated in colorful candy melts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package strawberry cake mix (baked & cooled)
- 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups pink or white candy melts (for coating)
- Sprinkles (pink, white, or any color you like)
Instructions
- Make the Cake Mixture: Bake the strawberry cake mix according to package instructions. Let it cool completely. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl. Add cream cheese frosting and mix until fully combined and dough-like in texture.
- Shape the Truffles: Roll mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (or 20 minutes in the freezer) until firm.
- Coat with Candy Melts: Melt candy melts in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball into the melted coating. Tap off excess coating and place back on parchment.
- Decorate: While still wet, add sprinkles on top. Allow coating to harden at room temperature or in the fridge.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling.
- Experiment with different colors of candy melts for a fun presentation.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
