Description
Create fun and spooky edible treats with these Halloween-themed pizza skulls, perfect for a festive gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tube refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup mini pepperoni slices (plus extra for decorating)
- ½ cup cooked Italian sausage (crumbled)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp butter (melted, for brushing)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease skull molds generously with nonstick spray or melted butter.
- Cut pizza dough into pieces large enough to line each skull mold and press dough into the molds, leaving enough overhang to seal later.
- Add a spoonful of pizza sauce, mozzarella, sausage, and pepperoni inside each mold.
- Fold dough over the filling and pinch edges to seal, placing dough seams facing up.
- Brush tops with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and Italian seasoning, then bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then carefully remove from the mold.
- Use pepperoni slices for “eyes” and extra sausage for a creepy “mouth” effect, then sprinkle with parsley for garnish.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and use additional vegetables.
- These can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
- Experiment with different fillings like vegetables or different cheeses.
