Description

These indulgent candy apples are a Snickers lover’s dream! Crisp apples are coated in creamy caramel, dipped in smooth milk and white chocolate, and covered with chopped Snickers pieces and roasted peanuts — every bite delivers that perfect mix of crunch, chew, and chocolatey satisfaction.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 6 sturdy metal skewers, forks, or candy apple sticks
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar (for cleaning apples)
  • Parchment paper
  • 1 (14 oz) bag soft caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil (1 tsp per chocolate type, for smooth melting)
  • 4 Snickers bars, chopped into small chunks
  • ½ cup salted peanuts, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup caramel sauce (for drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Wash apples in hot water with a splash of vinegar to remove wax. Dry completely, then insert a stick or fork firmly into the top. Chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Make the Caramel Coating: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine caramels and heavy cream. Stir continuously until melted and smooth (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract. Dip each chilled apple into the caramel, twisting to coat evenly. Set them on parchment to firm up (15 minutes).
  3. Coat in Chocolate: Melt milk chocolate chips with 1 tsp oil in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip each caramel-coated apple into the melted milk chocolate, covering fully. Melt white chocolate separately with 1 tsp oil, then drizzle over the top for contrast. Let the chocolate set slightly (about 5 minutes).
  4. Add the Snickers Explosion: While the coating is still tacky, press chopped Snickers pieces and peanuts all around the upper half of each apple. Drizzle with warm caramel sauce for that signature gooey finish. Place back on parchment and refrigerate for 30 minutes to set completely.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to help the coatings stick.
  • Use a microwave-safe bowl for melting chocolate to avoid burning.
  • Chilling the apples before coating helps the caramel adhere better.
