Description
Fresh strawberries coated in a glossy candy shell and paired with red sour gummies, chewy candies, and fruity sweets — the ultimate party-ready treat box!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb fresh strawberries (washed & dried well)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- Red food coloring (gel or liquid)
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice (optional, for shine)
- Sour gummy ribbons or belts (red-colored)
- Airheads, Twizzlers, or other chewy red candies
- Additional sour gummies or coated candies for layering
Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry strawberries — moisture will prevent candy from sticking. Insert skewers or toothpicks into the tops for easier dipping.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high without stirring until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, stir in food coloring (and lemon juice if using).
- Working quickly, dip strawberries into the hot candy mixture, twirling to coat evenly. Place on a parchment-lined tray to set and harden.
- Arrange candy-coated strawberries in an aluminum or decorative box. Add sour gummy ribbons, red chewy candies, and sugar-coated gummies around them for a fun, colorful mix. Chill lightly before serving (not too long or the candy shell may sweat).
Notes
- Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping.
- Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
- Experiment with different types of candies for variety.
