Description

A quick and delicious Pineapple Beef Stir-Fry recipe that combines tender beef with sweet pineapple and savory sauces.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef sirloin or flank steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or sesame oil for flavor)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 small bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey (or brown sugar)
  • ½ cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry, for thickening)
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or green onions), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Add beef cubes, season lightly with salt and pepper, and sear until browned on all sides (but not fully cooked through). Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add another 1 tbsp oil. Sauté garlic, ginger, onion, and bell pepper for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, and pineapple juice. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  5. Return beef to the pan, add pineapple chunks, and toss everything together until the beef is fully cooked and coated in sauce (about 2–3 minutes).
  6. Sprinkle with fresh parsley or green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
  • Feel free to substitute the beef with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed jasmine rice or noodles.
