Description

A quick and delicious taco bake using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls, perfect for a weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or 2 Tbsp homemade taco seasoning)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 can (8 oz / 250 g) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Sour cream, for topping

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning and water, and simmer for 3–4 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C). Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom and slightly up the sides of a greased 9-inch pie dish. Spoon the taco meat evenly over the dough. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Bake for 15–18 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  3. Remove from the oven and cool slightly (5 minutes). Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and green onions. Add a dollop of sour cream on top before serving.
