Description

A delightful and festive peppermint holiday fudge recipe that combines rich chocolate and creamy white peppermint layers, topped with crushed candy canes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups (260g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz / 400g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 ½ cups (260g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (240g) marshmallow fluff (or melted mini marshmallows)
  • ½ can (7 oz / 200g) sweetened condensed milk (use leftover from above)
  • ½ tsp peppermint extract (not mint flavoring)
  • Optional: 2 drops red food coloring swirled in
  • ½ cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
  • Holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang to lift later.
  2. Make the Chocolate Layer: In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt chocolate chips, butter, and condensed milk. Stir constantly until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat, add vanilla and a pinch of salt. Spread evenly into the prepared pan. Chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes while preparing the next layer.
  3. Make the White Peppermint Layer: In a clean saucepan, melt white chocolate chips with condensed milk over low heat. Stir in marshmallow fluff until fully smooth. Add peppermint extract. If desired, add a tiny swirl of red food coloring for a marbled peppermint effect. Pour over the chocolate layer and spread evenly.
  4. Add the Festive Topping: Immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes and sprinkles over the surface. Press them lightly so they adhere.
  5. Chill & Cut: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until fully firm. Lift out using parchment and cut into squares.

Notes

  • Ensure to stir constantly while melting chocolate to prevent burning.
  • For a more intense peppermint flavor, adjust the peppermint extract to taste.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
