Description

A delightful and irresistible Orange Creamsicle Crunch Cheesecake Cake that combines the flavors of orange cake, creamy cheesecake, and a crunchy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
  • ¾ cup buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
  • ½ cup orange soda or orange juice
  • 1 box orange cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 tsp orange zest (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup (120 g) sour cream
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups (480 g) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 23 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 20 Golden Oreos, crushed
  • 3 tbsp orange Jell-O powder (dry mix)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and sour cream. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 35–40 minutes, until set but slightly jiggly in the center. Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  4. In a large bowl, mix eggs, oil, buttermilk, and orange soda/juice until blended. Add cake mix and zest, mixing until smooth. Divide batter between pans and bake for 22–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. In a food processor, pulse Oreos until crumbs. Stir in dry orange Jell-O mix and melted butter until sandy. Set aside.
  6. Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar gradually, then vanilla and cream, whipping until fluffy.
  7. Place one orange cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a thin layer of frosting. Carefully place the cheesecake layer on top. Add more frosting. Place the second orange cake layer on top. Frost entire cake with cream cheese frosting. Press orange crunch topping around the sides for a vibrant finish.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing.

Notes

  • For best results, refrigerate the cheesecake layer overnight.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the frosting by adding more or less powdered sugar.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
