Description

A delicious beef and cheese skillet made with biscuit dough and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1½ cups biscuit or pie dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned)
  • Optional toppings: pickles, mustard, ketchup

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Incorporate the diced tomatoes into the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Set aside.
  6. Place the biscuit or pie dough into the bottom of an oven-safe skillet, pressing it up the sides to form a crust.
  7. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese evenly over the crust.
  8. Pour the beef and tomato mixture over the cheese on the crust.
  9. Top with the remaining shredded cheese for a gooey finish.
  10. Lastly, pour the egg and milk mixture over everything in the skillet, ensuring even coverage.
  11. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the egg is set.
  12. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
