Description

A fun and spooky dessert perfect for Halloween, featuring layers of orange and purple mousse topped with candy decorations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream, chilled (for each mousse)
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) white chocolate, chopped (for each mousse)
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened (for each mousse)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for each mousse)
  • Orange gel food coloring
  • Purple gel food coloring
  • Candy eyeballs (for decoration)
  • Gummy candies (worms, gumdrops, etc. for decoration)
  • Rainbow sprinkles or colored sugar (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Orange Mousse: Melt white chocolate gently (microwave in 20-second intervals or use a double boiler). Let cool slightly, then whisk in cream cheese and vanilla until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture gently until fluffy. Add orange food coloring and mix to desired shade. Chill for 15–20 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Purple Mousse: Repeat the same process as the orange mousse, using purple food coloring instead.
  3. Assemble the “Monster Mash”: Spoon or pipe alternating dollops of orange and purple mousse into clear glasses to create a marbled, swirled effect. Use a toothpick or skewer to lightly swirl the colors for a “monster slime” look. Top with gummy candies, candy eyeballs, and sprinkles for a fun, spooky finish.

Notes

  • Ensure the heavy cream is well chilled for better whipping.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired shade.
  • For a more intense flavor, consider adding a splash of orange or grape extract.
