Description

Mango Chili Sunrise is a delightful sweet heat ice cream that combines the tropical flavor of mango with a spicy chili swirl, perfect for adventurous taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups ripe mango purée (fresh or frozen mango, blended smooth)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream (cold)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
  • 12 teaspoons chili flakes (adjust to heat preference)
  • 1 small red chili (optional, finely minced for extra kick)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Make the Ice Cream Base: Blend ripe mango until completely smooth. In a mixing bowl, whisk together mango purée, heavy cream, milk, sugar, lime juice, and vanilla until sugar dissolves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2–3 hours, or until cold.
  2. Make the Chili Swirl: In a small saucepan, warm honey or agave with chili flakes and a pinch of salt over low heat. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes to infuse. Let it cool completely before using.
  3. Churn the Ice Cream: Pour the chilled mango mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer’s instructions (about 20–25 minutes). Once it reaches soft-serve consistency, transfer half of it into a freezer-safe container.
  4. Add the Swirl: Drizzle half of the chili honey over the first layer and swirl lightly with a knife. Add the remaining ice cream on top and drizzle more chili swirl, repeating the marbling effect. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until scoopable.
  5. Serve: Scoop into bowls and drizzle with a final touch of chili honey for extra heat.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of chili flakes based on your heat preference.
  • For a creamier texture, ensure the heavy cream is very cold before mixing.
  • Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping for easier serving.
