A delightful recipe for Jolly Rancher Crunch Candy Apples that combines the tartness of apples with a sweet, colorful candy coating.

- 6 medium tart apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 6 gold or wooden sticks
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup light corn syrup
- ½ cup water
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Purple gel food coloring
- 20–25 Jolly Rancher candies (mixed colors)
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional, to prevent sticking)
Instructions
- Wash and dry apples completely — remove all wax for best candy adhesion. Insert sticks firmly into the tops. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly oil it.
- Place unwrapped candies in a ziplock bag. Crush gently using a rolling pin or mallet into small shards (not powder). Toss with 1 tsp cornstarch to keep them from clumping. Pour the crushed candies into a shallow dish or plate for coating.
- In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Heat over medium-high heat, swirling occasionally (do not stir). Once boiling, cook until the temperature reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat, and carefully stir in vanilla extract and purple food coloring.
- Dip each apple into the hot candy syrup, swirling to coat evenly. Immediately roll the lower half of each apple in the crushed Jolly Ranchers, pressing gently to adhere. Set on the parchment to cool and harden completely (about 30 minutes).
- Once set, your apples will be glossy and crisp, with a colorful, crunchy outer layer that snaps when bitten!
