Description

A deliciously spicy twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring a creamy jalapeño filling and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 jalapeños, seeded & minced
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt & black pepper
  • 4 slices bread (thick-cut works best)
  • 46 slices cooked bacon (optional but delicious)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese (or a mix)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, minced jalapeños, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  2. Spread the jalapeño cream cheese mixture evenly over two slices of bread.
  3. Top each with bacon slices (if using) and shredded cheese.
  4. Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
  6. Butter the outside of each sandwich.
  7. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
  8. Slice in half and serve hot, preferably with chips, fries, or tomato soup.

Notes

  • For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
  • Feel free to mix different types of cheese for varied flavor.
