Description
A deliciously spicy twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring a creamy jalapeño filling and crispy bacon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1–2 jalapeños, seeded & minced
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of salt & black pepper
- 4 slices bread (thick-cut works best)
- 4–6 slices cooked bacon (optional but delicious)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese (or a mix)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, minced jalapeños, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Spread the jalapeño cream cheese mixture evenly over two slices of bread.
- Top each with bacon slices (if using) and shredded cheese.
- Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
- Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
- Butter the outside of each sandwich.
- Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook 3–4 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese inside is melted.
- Slice in half and serve hot, preferably with chips, fries, or tomato soup.
Notes
- For extra heat, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
- Feel free to mix different types of cheese for varied flavor.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and taste.
