- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring (for colorful dots)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two round baking pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar until combined.
- In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually combine with the dry ingredients to form a batter.
- Divide some batter into smaller bowls and tint with food coloring. Spoon colored batter randomly into prepared pans.
- Pour remaining chocolate batter over the colored dots in each pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pans for ten minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For a more vibrant cake, use multiple colors of food coloring.
- Make sure to use unsweetened cocoa powder for the best flavor.
