A rich and decadent chocolate bread pudding made with brioche or challah bread, perfect for dessert.
Ingredients

- 6 cups stale bread (brioche or challah)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- Cut stale bread into cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the bread cubes; let sit for 15 minutes to soak.
- Gently fold in half of the chocolate chips before transferring to the baking dish. Sprinkle remaining chips on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until set and slightly puffed. Allow cooling slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
- This chocolate bread pudding is best served warm with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
- Feel free to substitute other types of bread if you don’t have brioche or challah.
