Description

A rich and decadent chocolate bread pudding made with brioche or challah bread, perfect for dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups stale bread (brioche or challah)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a large baking dish.
  2. Cut stale bread into cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the bread cubes; let sit for 15 minutes to soak.
  5. Gently fold in half of the chocolate chips before transferring to the baking dish. Sprinkle remaining chips on top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until set and slightly puffed. Allow cooling slightly before serving warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes
