Description

A spooky and delicious Gooey Monster Halloween Bundt Cake that is perfect for your Halloween party, featuring a chocolate base and a gooey green glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee (or hot water for milder flavor)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 34 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Neon green food coloring (gel preferred)
  • Candy eyeballs (various sizes for a spooky effect)
  • Crushed chocolate cookies or candy (for “dirt”)
  • Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. Stir in hot coffee (batter will be thin). Pour into prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Let cake cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then carefully invert onto a wire rack. Cool completely.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth to make the glaze.
  8. Tint with green food coloring until it looks bright and slimy.
  9. Drizzle glaze over cooled cake, letting it drip down naturally.
  10. While glaze is still wet, press candy eyeballs into random spots.
  11. Sprinkle with cookie crumbs, candy bits, or Halloween sprinkles for extra monster vibes.

Notes

  • Ensure the buttermilk is at room temperature for better mixing.
  • For a milder flavor, use hot water instead of coffee.
  • Adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired shade of green.
