Description

A delicious combination of gingerbread spice and matcha, perfect for a cozy drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1/2 tablespoon light molasses (or 1 tbsp dark brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon gingerbread spice mix (or 1/8 tsp each ginger, cinnamon, cloves, allspice)
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice (for foam)
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder (I used 1 Pique tea matcha sachet)
  • 1/4 cup hot water

Instructions

  1. Combine and heat 1 cup milk of choice, 1/2 tablespoon light molasses, 1/2 teaspoon gingerbread spice mix, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Use a milk frother or whisk in a saucepan on the stove until hot, but not boiling.
  2. Separately whisk 1/4 cup milk of choice until foamy. Pour the gingerbread spice milk into a mug and top with the milk foam.
  3. Whisk 1 teaspoon matcha powder and 1/4 cup hot water until completely smooth. Ideally use a bamboo matcha or frothing wand.
  4. Pour the matcha shot on top of the spiced milk and foam to complete the gingerbread matcha latte. Dust with a touch more gingerbread spice.

Notes

  • Serve immediately for the best taste.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more molasses or dark brown sugar.
