Description

These spicy turkey burgers are made with lean ground turkey and fresh jalapeños, topped with avocado and salsa for a delicious meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup fresh jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 4 whole grain hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup salsa

Instructions

  1. Chop jalapeños and cilantro.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground turkey, jalapeños, cumin, and cilantro until well combined.
  3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form patties about one inch thick; make a slight indentation in the center of each.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet over medium heat; lightly oil it. Cook each patty for about 6 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Toast the buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until warm and crispy.
  6. Assemble by placing each patty on a bun and topping generously with avocado slices and salsa.
