Description
A delightful recipe for creating visually stunning Enchanted Forest Marbled Candy Apples, perfect for festive occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or green apples work best)
- 6 wooden sticks or twigs (for a natural forest look)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ¾ cup water
- ½ tsp clear vanilla extract (optional)
- Green and teal oil-based food coloring (candy colors, not gel or water-based)
- White candy color (for contrast)
- A few drops of edible pearl dust or shimmer (optional)
Instructions
- In a heavy saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, and water.
- Heat over medium-high, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Stop stirring and let it boil until it reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer (hard-crack stage).
- Remove from heat, add vanilla extract if desired, and let the bubbles settle slightly.
- Prepare three small bowls with white, green, and teal candy colors.
- Divide the hot syrup among the bowls (work quickly).
- On a parchment-lined surface or silicone mat, pour thin streams of each color back into a larger bowl, swirling gently — don’t overmix!
- Dip each apple carefully into the marbled syrup, turning to coat evenly.
- Allow excess to drip off, then place on a greased parchment sheet to cool and harden.
Notes
- Ensure the candy thermometer is accurate for best results.
- Work quickly when marbling to prevent the syrup from hardening.
- Experiment with different colors for a unique look.
