Description
A delicious recipe for chocolate lava cakes filled with creamy peanut butter.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- ½ cup unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and grease four ramekins with butter.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, whole eggs, and egg yolks until light and frothy.
- Sift in the flour and fold gently into the egg mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the melted chocolate mixture until fully blended.
- Spoon half of the batter into each ramekin, add a dollop of peanut butter in the center, then top with remaining batter until three-quarters full.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until set around the edges but soft in the middle.
- Let cool for a minute before inverting onto plates and dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Be careful not to overbake, as you want the centers to remain molten.
- Serving immediately after baking gives the best texture.
