  • 2 Tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 Tablespoons finely minced dill pickles
  • 1 Tablespoon pickle juice
  • 1 Tablespoon finely minced white onion
  • 2 lbs 85/15 or 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup gluten free beef broth
  • 11/2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon gluten free reduced-sodium Tamari
  • 1 Tablespoon gluten free worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 11/2 lbs gluten free french fries
  • to taste homemade seasoned salt (optional)
  • 6 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tomato (seeded and chopped)
  • 1 finely minced white onion

Instructions

  1. Add the mayonnaise, ketchup, dill pickles, pickle juice, and finely minced white onion to a small bowl and stir to combine. Can be made up to 5 days ahead of time – store in the refrigerator.
  2. Add the ground beef, yellow onion, gluten free beef broth, apple cider vinegar, Tamari, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, and pepper to a 6-quart crock pot. Cook on high for 4 hours, breaking the meat up and stirring three times.
  3. Bake the french fries on a large baking sheet according to package directions, then season with homemade seasoned salt while still warm and toss to coat.
  4. Drain enough meat to cover the french fries, then spoon the meat on top. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and broil until the cheese has melted, about 1-2 minutes.
