- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1¾ cups warm water
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, kosher salt, olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Once risen, punch down the dough and add in butter, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, red pepper flakes, and black pepper, mixing well.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
