Description

This homemade bread recipe is easy and delicious, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ cups warm water
  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, kosher salt, olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and add in butter, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, red pepper flakes, and black pepper, mixing well.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.
