Description

These dreamy candy apples are coated in pastel swirls of pink, blue, and purple with a glossy finish and a touch of edible glitter. Perfect for parties, fairs, or whimsical celebrations, they’re as magical as they are delicious!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 fresh apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best)
  • 6 wooden sticks or skewers
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ¾ cup water
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Gel food coloring (pink, blue, purple, white)
  • Edible glitter or sanding sugar (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry apples. Remove stems and insert wooden sticks firmly into the tops.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
  4. Heat over medium-high heat without stirring until mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  5. Once at temperature, remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.
  6. Divide the candy mixture into separate bowls (one for each color).
  7. Quickly add a drop or two of gel food coloring to each and swirl gently.
  8. Pour the colors back together into one bowl, barely stirring to create a marbled effect.
  9. Holding the stick, dip each apple into the candy mixture, twisting slightly to achieve the cotton candy swirl.
  10. Place on prepared parchment paper to set.
  11. While still tacky, sprinkle with edible glitter or sanding sugar for a magical finish.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are completely dry for better coating adherence.
  • Use a candy thermometer for accurate temperature measurement.
  • Experiment with different color combinations for unique designs.
