  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Oil, for frying
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tbsp light corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp cotton candy flavoring (or raspberry/blue raspberry flavor extract)
  • Gel food coloring (pink, blue, purple for swirls)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken: Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and onion powder. Dredge wings in seasoned flour until fully coated. Shake off excess.
  2. Fry the Wings: Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry wings in batches for 8–10 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp 165°F / 74°C). Drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the Cotton Candy Glaze: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat until mixture reaches 230°F (thread stage). Remove from heat and stir in cotton candy flavoring. Divide glaze into bowls and tint with gel food coloring (pink, blue, purple). Swirl colors together lightly for a cotton candy effect.
