Description

Chocolate Strawberry Trifle Delight is a delicious layered dessert featuring rich chocolate cake, creamy puddings, and fresh strawberries, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (or homemade) chocolate cake, baked and cooled
  • 2 cups (480 ml) chocolate pudding (homemade or instant)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla pudding or custard
  • 2 cups (480 ml) whipped cream or Cool Whip
  • 2 cups (300 g) fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Optional: chocolate shavings or crushed chocolate bars for topping
  • For Homemade Vanilla Custard (optional):
  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • For Homemade Chocolate Pudding (optional):
  • 2 cups (480 ml) milk
  • ½ cup (100 g) sugar
  • ¼ cup (25 g) cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 oz (30 g) dark chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare chocolate cake according to package directions or your favorite recipe. Let it cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. For Homemade Custard and Pudding: Heat milk until steaming. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until smooth. Slowly add hot milk while whisking constantly. Return to saucepan and cook over medium heat until thickened. Stir in vanilla and butter; cool completely. For chocolate pudding, whisk together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Add milk gradually and cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and chopped chocolate. Cool before layering.
  3. In a large glass trifle bowl (or dessert cups), layer the ingredients: chocolate cake cubes, chocolate pudding, vanilla custard, whipped cream, and sliced strawberries. Repeat layers until you reach the top, ending with whipped cream.
  4. Top with whole strawberries and crushed chocolate bars or shavings. Chill for 2–3 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes
