Description

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls with “Big Mac” Sauce are irresistible crispy rolls filled with a delicious cheeseburger mixture and served with a tangy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped dill pickles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (plus more for frying or brushing)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp French dressing (or Thousand Island)
  • 1 tbsp finely diced dill pickles
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.
  5. Stir in chopped pickles, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix until the cheese melts and everything is combined. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape on a clean surface. Spoon about 2–3 tbsp of the beef mixture into the center.
  8. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Use a little water to seal the edge. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  9. For frying, heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  10. For baking, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place egg rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with oil, and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Bake for 12–15 minutes until crispy.
  11. For air frying, preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray egg rolls with cooking spray, air fry for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway.
  12. Serve warm with the “Big Mac” sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying for a crispy texture.
  • Feel free to customize the filling with additional ingredients like bacon or different cheeses.
  • Store any leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
