Ingredients

  • 6 large croissants (day-old works best), torn into large chunks
  • 225 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for freshness)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, halved
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup blackberries (optional)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Arrange torn croissant pieces evenly in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  6. Stir in milk, heavy cream, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  7. Pour custard mixture evenly over croissants, gently pressing down to soak.
  8. Scatter fresh berries evenly over the top.
  9. Lightly press some into the croissants, leaving some on top for presentation.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake an additional 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and custard is set.
  12. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  13. Garnish with mint leaves for a fresh touch.
