Description

A creamy and festive dip featuring layers of cream cheese and a sweet-tart cranberry compote, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120 g) sour cream
  • 1 cup (120 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1½ cups (150 g) fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • ½ tsp orange zest (optional)
  • Extra mozzarella or white cheddar for topping
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary, for garnish
  • Crackers, crostini, or toasted baguette slices

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, sugar, honey, and orange juice. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, stir in orange zest, and let cool slightly.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread half of the cream cheese mixture into a small baking dish (about 8-inch or similar). Spoon the cranberry compote evenly over the top. Spread the remaining cream cheese mixture on top, then sprinkle extra mozzarella or cheddar over it.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden. Let cool for 5–10 minutes, then garnish with fresh thyme and a few whole cranberries.

Notes

  • For a sweeter dip, adjust the amount of sugar or honey to taste.
  • This dip can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
