Description

Delicious and easy air-fried cinnamon twists made with puff pastry, butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prep your puff pastry: Start by unfolding your thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to gently flatten it out just a bit for even thickness. You want it thin enough to crisp up, but thick enough to stay soft in the center.
  2. Add cinnamon-sugar magic: Brush the entire sheet with melted butter, getting all the way to the edges. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar together, then sprinkle it evenly over the pastry. You can press it in lightly with your hands to help it stick.
  3. Fold and cut: Fold the pastry sheet in half lengthwise so the cinnamon sugar is sandwiched inside. Press gently. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, slice the dough into 1-inch wide strips.
  4. Twist and arrange: Take each strip and twist it several times, then place it into the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper or lightly greased. Give each twist a bit of space—they’ll puff as they cook.
  5. Air fry until golden: Air fry the cinnamon twists at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, or until they’re puffed up and golden brown. Depending on your air fryer model, you may need to cook in batches.
  6. Add glaze (optional but delicious): If you want to go the extra mile, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the warm twists and let it set for a few minutes.
